Transporters carrying inflammable goods to be booked: Mir Sarfaraz
QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti has said that security forces have been strictly directed by the provincial government to take immediate action against transporters carrying inflammable goods and lodge First Information Report (FIR) against them.
He shared these views while talking to media after the Folk Musical Function at a local hotel. Sarfaraz Bugti said that after Hub incident took place, the provincial government has taken strict measures for curb the smuggling of Petrol, Diesel and other inflammable items on passengers vehicles. “We have formed a committee under the supervision of Regional Police Officer (RPO) and Commissioner for investigate the incident which claimed 40 innocent lives.” Sarfaraz Bugti said, adding that we directed them to take strict action against whoever showed negligence.
Responding to a query Sarfaraz Bugti said for curbing the smuggling from the frontiers of the province, we have only two existing Anti Smuggling Agencies, namely Pakistan Custom and Coast Guards while both are working under the federal Government. “We don’t have our own Anti-smuggling force which leads to sometimes such incident but I accept it was the negligence of our provincial administration,” said the provincial minister.
Responding to another question Bugti said that FC alone can’t guard the 2000 to 4000km boarder line but the smugglers doesn’t use the security check points, they use remote areas of the border. Answering to yet another question regarding reports about Iran’s fencing of its borderline, Bugti said it would be a futile step that we should also start fencing our frontiers as provincial government can’t afford it alone.
Responding to the allegations by the Iranian Government for the kidnapping of its border guards, Home Minister said that when the Iranian Governor had visited Quetta, adding that we had made it clear to them that if they have any solid proves about the presence of their guards on our soil, they should us with the evidence and we would launch operation for the recovery of their guards. Citing the missing Malaysian aircraft MH 370 Bugti said that unfortunately our international counterparts put all allegations on Pakistan which is injustice with us. “I categorically want to tell them that we don’t believe in any kind of Cross Boarder Terrorism,” he added.
