CJCSC confers civil awards
Islamabad: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashid Mahmood on Thursday conferred civil awards to eminent scientists and engineers working in the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Dr AQ Khan Research Laboratory (KRL), National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM), Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and Strategic Plans Division (SPD), for their meritorious services, in a ceremony held at the Joint Staff Headquarters (JSH) on Thursday. CJCSC conferred these awards to the officials on behalf of President Mamnoon Hussain. Out of the 25 awardees, 8 officials received Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 13 officials received Pride of Performance and 4 officials received Tamgha-i-Imtiaz. Sitara-i-Imtiaz was awarded to Syed Zahurul Hasan Bokhari, Pervez Ahmed, Brigadier (r) Shafqat Baig, Khaliq Dad Khan, Brigadier (r) Azmat Hayat, Brigadier (r) Faheem Khawar, Air Commodore (r) Syed Mehmood Hussain and Col (r) Zahid Majeed.
The Pride of Performance was given to Syed Tauqir Ashraf, Munir Ahmad, Malik Murid Hussain, Khalilur Rehman, Tariq Hameed, Farooq Ahmed Bhatti, Ghulam Rasool Akhtar, Tariq Ikramul Haq, Capt (r) Hyder Ali Palijo, Masood Raza, Muhammad Yousuf Khan, Jehanzaib Khan and Mehreen Afzal. The Tamgha-i-Imtiaz was awarded to Abdul Qayyum (late), Lt Col (r) Khalid Mahmood, Fasihur Rehman and Muhammad Farooq.
