Military operations to continue till total elimination of terrorists: Gen Sharif

RAWALPINDI - Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif said on Sunday that the only way in the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb and Khyber operations was way forward till total elimination of terrorists.
He made these remarks during his visit to Corps Headquarters, Peshawar where he was briefed in detail on security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), progress on-ongoing operations Zarb-e-Azb and North Wazirastan Agency, Khyber Agency and targeted intelligence based operations. General Sharif said that the operations would ultimately result in better border management. He also appreciated intelligence based operations, according to a tweet of Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa on social media. The army chief emphasised coordination amongst all agencies for dignified return of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) within time lines decided. The return of the IDPs will commence in the mid of this month.
