OIC should mediate in Yemen conflict: Malik

KARACHI - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Rehman Malik on Sunday suggested that the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) should mediate in the Yemen conflict.
Addressing a news conference here, he said that Saudi Arabia always sided with Pakistan and if the kingdom faced any difficult time Pakistan should stand by it. Malik said that if PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was approached for mediation in the Yemen conflict, he would surely play his role in this regard. If any input was sought by the federal government over the issue, or any responsibility was assigned to PPP it would be considered, he said. The PPP leader opined that Yemenis were being used by some world powers.
