Rehman Malik rejects Mustafa Kamal’s allegations
LONDON: Former interior minister and PPP leader Rehman Malik on Saturday said Mustafa Kamal used his name for “cheap publicity” during his press conference.
Talking to media, he said Sindh governor Ishratul Ebad Khan accompanied him in his meetings with Altaf Hussain and he always sought permission of Asif Ali Zardari before meetings.
“My name was used for cheap publicity. British government didn’t send me any letter about Imran Farooq murder case,” he said.
He also denied dictating press statements for the MQM after his meetings with Altaf Hussain.
Rehman Malik said he never heard of MQM’s alleged links with Indian intelligence during his stint as interior minister of Pakistan.
He also rejected the impression that Asif Ali Zardari postponed his scheduled press conference in New York on Thursday due to Mustafa Kamal's media talk.
Rehman Malik said his name is used to exaggerate news and Mustafa Kamal also succeeded in doing so.
