Why worry if Punjab is corrupsion-free: Khursheed Shah
SUKKUR: Opposition leader in National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah Sunday said if there is no corruption in Punjab then ‘why is it that it is making them so nervous?’
“N-League seems to have such a long tail that it is becoming a landing ground for every foot,” Khursheed Shah said while interacting with media persons here.
He said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been threatened in the Punjab. “And now if NAB avoids going into Punjab and limits its actions to the small provinces then the Bureau would run the risk of becoming a controversial institution,” he warned.
On the return of former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal, Shah said Kamal has returned with a new face which would certainly have its impact on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). “There must be a strong support of some group as well as weight of important personalities of MQM behind Mustafa Kamal,” he added.
He described MQM as a ‘sweet baby of Establishment’, saying former military dictator Ziaul Haq had raised the Karachi-based party with mother-like care. “When the kids grow up, they become cheeky and go completely out of control,” he added.
Khursheed Shah said he did not want any confrontation with the Prime Minister, adding, he holds him in high regard. “There are some questions that I would before him with a hope that he would respond honestly,” he said.
