Musharraf set up NAB to take revenge on Nawaz Sharif : Pervaiz Rashid
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said Pervez Musharraf created National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to take revenge on Nawaz Sharif and it was “our responsibility to fix Pakistan’s institutions”.
Talking to media, he said NAB chairman also admitted flaws in his organizations, adding that anti-corruption body was free to hold inquiry against anyone but vilification of people could not be allowed under any circumstances.
“We ousted them from government. Who is responsible for bringing them back them back, and then strengthening them as well,” the minister said in reply to a question without naming Muttahida Qaumi Movement. He also called for accountability of Pervez Musharraf.
Responding to a question, he said Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan formed a committee to look into Sarfaraz Merchant’s statement and Mustafa Kamal should also approach the committee if he has evidence to support his claims.
To another question regarding cricket team visit to India, he said Pakistan squad would not go till the security assurance is given by the hosts.
He said it reflects lack of knowledge on part of those who become cause of trouble for others and also claim to be followers of the Prophet (PBUH), who was an epitome of blessings for all.
