OIC Summit on Palestine underway
JAKARTA: An extra ordinary summit of Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif kicked off in Jakarta on Sunday.The summit is being held at the request of Palestine's President Mehmoud Abbas, after the escalation of Israeli violence in the occupied territories and restriction imposed by it to access the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.
Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid is representing Pakistan at the ministerial preparatory meeting, which preceded the high-level heads of state meeting to be held tomorrow.
President Mamnoon Hussain will represent Pakistan along with representatives from forty nine Muslim countries in two days summit.
