Reaction to NAB’s actions in Punjab shows all is not well: Shah
LAHORE: Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah Monday said Nawaz Sharif was the one who laid the foundation of ‘accountability’ with ‘Ahtesabur Rehman’ its chairman.
“The Federation and Punjab fumed with rage when 150 cases of mega (corruption) relating to Punjab landed at NAB,” maintained Syed Khursheed Shah while interacting with media persons here.
He said the reaction being exhibited by the center and provincial ministers, shows whatever it is emanating from has to be something big.
He said Punjab’s budget is Rs400 billion while that of Orange Line Train is Rs200. This proves that the budget for Lahore alone outstrips that of the entire Southern Punjab, he observed.
Khursheed Shah said Chaudhry Nisar had stated that a commission over Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) can be formed on Sindh government’s request but later he backed away from it.
He said although the Senate is ‘our Federation’ but unfortunately the privatization of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) seems to be of such a huge importance for them that they are not even ready to abide by the decision of the ‘Federation’ itself.
