Pak, UK agree to prepare three-year roadmap

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to prepare a three-year roadmap 2016-18 to bolster cooperation in different fields.
The understanding came at a meeting between Adviser on National and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond during talks here on Tuesday. Talking to the joint press conference, the adviser said that the next round of strategic dialogue between the two countries will be held in next few weeks.
Sartaj said that both Pakistan and Britain share convergence of views on regional and international issues and are committed to further enhance their multifaceted relations. In his remarks, the UK's foreign secretary said that both the countries enjoy excellent relations spanning over decades. He said that the Afghan Taliban return to homeland after carrying out attacks in Pakistan.
He welcomed Pakistan's efforts for reconciliation in Afghanistan and said during discussion the two sides deliberated as to how the international community to support the Afghan reconciliation process.
