Speaking to media after the meeting, Aziz expressed the hope that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi would meet in Washington on the sidelines of nuclear summit this month.

"Looking at the way the Pathankot issues was handled , we are hopeful of positive results," he said while speaking of Pakistan's offer to extend cooperation in probing a militant attack on India's Pathankot airbase that New Delhi blamed on militant groups in Pakistan.

Sushma Swaraj told media that Pakistan’s Joint Investigation Team (JIT) would reach India on March 27 and would start work from 28. "Some issues of concern between India and Pakistan were decided upon in a very cooperative and positive manner," she said.

She said the atmosphere of SAARC ministerial meeting was different from previous ones.

Sartaj Aziz and Sushma Swaraj are in Nepal to attend the SAARC Ministerial summit, where they held an informal meeting at the breakfast earlier in the day.
