Pervez Musharraf departs for Dubai for medical treatment

KARACHI: Former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf left here for Dubai where he is said to receive medical treatment for the health issues he has been going through during the past weeks.

Successfully evading media attention, Pervez Musharraf boarded a private airline’s flight EK 611 which is expected to land in Dubai at 5:20 am.

Wearing green T-shirt, Musharraf appeared normal as ever, said Geo News reporter Afzal Nadeem Dogar who was reporting right from the plane.

Dogar said he tried to talk to Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf after the latter took his seat but Tariq Mehoom who accompanied him said neither can media be allowed to take a photo nor talk to him.

Earlier, the media vans that waited outside Pervez Musharraf’s residence could not capture the footage of his convoy, as the former president believed to have left his place much before the flight time.

Again at the airport Pervez Musharraf successfully avoided the media by making his way from Shaheen gate which is normally used by a certain kind of staff. Musharraf did not use the entrance meant for the passengers.

Sources said that Pervez Musharraf’s personal doctors have already reached Dubai.

Earlier, the Federal government issued a notification to allow Pervez Musharraf to travel abroad in the light of the Supreme Court's orders.
