Imran criticises govt over Musharraf's departure
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday criticised the government over former president Pervaiz Musharraf’s departure from the country.
In a poetic tone, Imran went on to say, “Nadaan gir gya Sajdy mai jb waqt-e-qayam aya.” The PTI chief made the statement before leaving for Kolkata during a media talk outside his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad.
Imran said that earlier Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was talking about Article-6 and had vowed not to let Musharraf leave but now the prime minister has kept silence on the issue.
He said that he is unaware of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s presence in India. Denouncing the alleged secret agenda of D-Chowk sit-in alliances, Imran said that there is nothing one could not say in Pakistan for which he needs to be in India.
While talking about Pakistan-India World T20 clash, he said that the game carries a lot of pressure and is important for both the sides. He confirmed that his meeting with Pakistan team is due today (Saturday) in which he will try to prepare them mentally and will advice the players according to his experience.
He said that Himachal Pradesh was not a suitable destination for Pakistan to play the match as the chief minister’s statement was against hospitality. Responding to a question, Imran said that politics is more important and a challenging game for him however; he does not have any time for cricket now.
Talking to media persons before leaving to India, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid said that he has always maintained contact with opposition leaders Imran Khan and Dr Qadri and there is nothing of the sort as being projected.
AML chief termed Pakistan-India clash ‘final match’ of the International Cricket Council World Twenty20 2016. Rashid said that he would return to Pakistan the next day after match.
