Pakistan, China ink MOUs worth Rs 25m during Pak-China Business Forum
Initiative of COMSATS, Pak-China Business Forum attracts more than 700 Chinese for consolidating CPEC investment portfolio
LAHORE - Minister for Education Rana Mashood visited the Pakistan-China Business Forum, 2016 and met with Chinese Businessmen.
Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) worth more than Rs 25 million has been signed between Pakistan and Chinese Companies. More than thousands business to business meetings has taken place by the second day of the forum. Various Chinese industrial sectors from automobile, electronics, heavy machinery and manufacturers were aggressively looking for Pakistani companies’ counterparts.
The initiative of COMSATS, Pakistan-China Business Forum 2016 has attracted more than 700 Chinese to Pakistan for consolidating the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) investment portfolio. Moreover, more than 50,000 visitors paid their visit to Expo Centre to attend the forum.
Second day of fifth Pak-China Business Forum 2016 started with same zeal and zest as was the first day. Exhibition opened for public at 10:00 am. Chinese delegates were very enthusiastic for their stalls and setups which actually surrounded the business of entire world including paper, furniture, a vast advertisement of electronics and technology, logistics and technical individuals were also part of forum.
Various Pakistani companies from all sectors including national, multination, SME’s, entrepreneurs and universities were able to showcase their products through this platform. German companies like 8.2 are also part of this forum which are developing renewable energy resource projects in Pakistan such as hydel and solar.
The business forum also help promoting thematic areas of new energy technologies, information and communication technologies, water conservation, purification and sanitation and development of buildings and resorts. This very day of 20th March, 2016 included three highly noted conferences in Expo Centre Lahore as follows:
1. Renewable Energy Technologies: Prospects and Challenges
This conference had renowned people as Key Note Speaker which were Dr Najeeb Ullah, Director USPCAS-E UET Peshawar, Professor Zuhair S Khan, Head of Energy Center, NUST Islamabad, Dr Suhail Zaki, and Director General PCRET. This included technical talks by industrialist and it included the Chinese speakers too. This concluded with the fact that Chinese Companies are quite willing to invest in Pakistan to overcome energy crises.
This event also covered the inauguration of Renewable Energy Society by director of CIIT Lahore.
2. 2nd National Conference of Museum Directors and Curators
In this conference pivotal discussions took place such as Religious Connections in Museums, Need to Establish Specialized Museums in Pakistan, Utilizing Museums as Social Education, and Proposed Future Strategy for University Museums in Pakistan, Role and Developments in establishment and recoveries.
3. Water Conservation, Purification & Sanitation
This conference specifically included the “Introduction to 5th Pak-China Business Forum and the Workshop” by Prof. Dr. Asad U. Khan, Chairman Chemical Engineering, CIIT Lahore. A detailed description was remarked regarding Water Harvesting from Fog Dense Areas, Water Lifeline for Energy and Food, Water Conservation, Purification and Sanitation Facilities in Punjab.
This day concluded with quite good output and gestures from public. Next two days will be more outrageous and big regarding meetings and further vast input from organizations. We are looking forward towards the presence of many renowned figures and individuals.
