Pakistan Day parade held in spectacular manner
By APPISLAMABAD: The marching and mechanized columns of civil and armed forces of the country here on Wednesday presented a spectacular parade expressing solemn pledge to always ensure the safety, security and prosperity of the motherland.
President Mamnoon Hussain was the chief guest, who arrived at the venue in a horse drawn Buggi, escorted by traditional unit of President’s body guards.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif received the President at the Shakarparian Parade Venue.
Present on the dais included, Defence Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff and Vice Chief of Air Staff, representing Chief of Air Staff who was leading the PAF fly-past.
The impressive ceremony kicked off with a splendid fly past of aircraft of Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy led by Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman.
Troops of the Parade including foot columns of Army, Navy Pakistan, Air Force, Frontier Corps, Northern Light Infantry, Mujahid Force, Islamabad Police, tri service Lady officers, tri service Armed Forces Nursing Service, Girls Guide, Boys Scouts, Special Service Group from three Services, mechanized columns of Armoured Corps, Artillery, Army Air Defence, Signals, Engineers, Army Strategic Force, Command Camel Band, and President’s body guards marched past the dais presenting salute to the President.
The skydivers of the Special Services Groups presented heart touching and thrilling free fall from ten thousand feet while carrying the national flags and those of three services.
