PPP manifesto based on equality: Bilawal
PPP chairman Hindu community has same rights as Muslims in Pakistan

UMARKOT – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the PPP manifesto is based on equality.

“We don’t discriminate and speak of human rights, women rights and poor citizens of Pakistan. We were the first to announce Holi holiday in Pakistan and we believe in equality,” he stated while addressing to the Hindu Holi gathering here on Thursday.

“PPP chairperson late Benzir Bhutto was the first women prime minister of Islamic country in the world, so they demands equal rights of women as male dominancy in Pakistan,” he said. He said that we are the first provincial government to approve Hindu marriage act.

The PPP chairman said that women facing same as minorities of Pakistan. “If women stand by me, we can change Pakistan,” he added. He said that the PPP was not making any differences over religion caste and creed. He also said that the Hindu community has the same rights as Muslims in Pakistan.

“We want to create Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan the same Pakistan about which Jinnah said that, you are now free to go to mosques and your prayer places. We will work together for Pakistan and every person’s religion is their personal matter,” Bilawal said.

The PPP chairman said that we don’t want to divide Pakistan into sects and classes, adding that we believe in a united Pakistan. He invited other provinces to create proper laws for minorities. He added that we were the first to give protection to women through domestic violence act.

“I believe that Islam gives respect to women and treats them as equal and while we worked for the empowerment of women order political parties are staging dramas,” he added, “Despite that the Punjab Women Protection Act is not a strong act I still congratulate Pakistan Muslim League-N.”

Bilawal said that drawing upon various religious incidents and historical references from Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life he highlighted the importance of women’s achievement throughout history.

He said that Fatima Jinnah supported her brother Quaid-e-Azam, Nusrat Bhutto helped her husband Zulfiqar Bhutto and his mother Benazir Bhutto made the nation proud when she was elected the first women prime minister of Pakistan.

“We don’t want separate Pakistan for Muslims and minorities,” the PPP chairman said. He appealed that the federal govt should provide gas facility to Umerkot. He said that if the federal government fails to initiate this project he will initiate a protest with the people of Umarkot.

However, five people fall unconscious in stampede after Bilawal's address. He announced a public gathering in Rahim Yar Khan on March 26.
