Musharraf thanks govt, SC for ECL decision
Ex-president says no deal has made to go abroad with govt

DUBAI – Former president general (r) Pervez Musharraf thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and the Supreme Court for considering his legal case and removing his name from exit control list (ECL).

Talking to a private TV channel, he said that no deal has been made to go abroad, rejecting rumours regarding his departure abroad. He said that his name was removed from the ECL on the court order. He said that he was staying in Dubai for a medical checkup and might travel to the United States of America for further treatment.

Musharraf denied the reports that an All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) meeting was held in Dubai saying he only met those who came to receive him at the airport. He added that he was not doing any political activity in Dubai.

He said that he had appeared in courts many times to face cases against him and he was not afraid to go there. He also denied the reports that he would not return to Pakistan and said he loved his Pakistan. He added that the decision about his return would be taken as per doctors’ advice.
