Sardar Yaqoob Khan declared unopposed senator
APPISLAMABAD: Election Commission’s additional secretary and returning officer for Senate by-election Fida Muhammad on Thursday declared Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasar, a candidate nominated by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz as returned uncontested to Senate from the federal capital. According to a notification issued, the seat had fallen vacant due to appointment of Senator Zafar Iqbal Jhagra as governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and nomination papers were filed against that seat only by one candidate Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasar. After scrutiny of nomination papers, he was declared as uncontested member of Senate, the notification added.
