Pakistan Navy provides aid to Yemeni fishermen

Pakistan Navy provided medical aid to fishermen of Yemen on Saturday as a response to their request.

Al Barq (boat) had 16 fishermen on board while they made a request to Pakistan Navy. Medical staff on voyage in PNS ship reached the boat and delivered medical help. The convoy thanked Pakistan Navy for its prompt operation.

The war-torn country has been deprived off medical and humanitarian aid, leading to mass starvation and diseases.

Save the Children Fund has issued a warning that by the end of year, death toll of children suffering from disease and starvation may rise to 50,000. According to humanitarian organisations, approximately 130 children are dying every day as poverty-stricken Arab country suffers through famine and the ‘largest cholera outbreak’ in modern history.

The war has claimed the lives of 40,000 children so far and the figure may climb up to 50,000 by the end of year.
