Power shortfall drops to 3355MW

LAHORE: The electricity shortfall, which has come down to 3355MW, has failed to reduce the ongoing load-shedding duration in Lahore and other cities.

Around nine to 14 hours of power cuts are being observed in urban are rural areas of the country.

According to Pepco spokesman, the country’s overall power generation is 10863MW while demand stands at 14218MW.

The Pepco said Bhakhi rental power plant has started operation in Sheikhupura, adding 110MW in the system.

On the other hand, consumers have complained that there is no change in power outages despite enforcement of energy conservation plan and decline in electricity shortfall.
