Federal cabinet approves Labour Policy
ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet approved the Labour Policy 2010 in a special meeting, Geo News reported Saturday.The minimum wages for the labourer has been raised from Rs6000 to Rs7000 in a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The meeting held Convention Center Islamabad, reviewed the Labour Policy hammered out by the Ministry of Labour and Manpower. The new Labour Policy will be put in force from June 1.
Under new policy, the industrial labourers will be entitled to further privileges and the forced labour would be put to an end.
Under the policy, the minors aged 14 to 18 would not be allowed to work in uncongenial and improper atmosphere. The number of women at any company would be specified under ILO Charter.
The new policy also stipulates the rules and regulations relating links between employers and employees.
