Female police officials granted bale in women torture case
FAISALABAD: A civil court has granted bail to four policewomen and send two policemen to jail in Abida Hameed torture case.
Today, six police personnel, SHO Women Police Station Zahida Parveen, Lady Constables Bushra, Zahida, Gulnaz, Sub Inspector Nasr Ullah Niazi and SI Raja Tauheed were presented before the court.
Civil judge Malik Rahmat Ali granted bail to four policewomen and two policemen were send to jail for judicial remand.
According to details, Abida Hameed resident of Peoples Colony went to District Katchery for appearing in a local court from where police constables picked her up and took her to Police Station Civil Line on 26-08-2008.
Later, the lady police constables tortured Abida Hameed in presence of male policemen at Police Station.
National television channels flashed the news of police torture recently some days ago.
