PM addresses Dasti's election rally
MUZAFFARGARH: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Tuesday said that PPP has always rejected deals and back doors and came into power only with the support of the people.He was addressing a big gathering at Faisal stadium organized as part of election campaign of Jamshed Dasti who is contesting from NA-178, Muzaffargarh.
On March 25, 2010 Dasti announced his resignation in front of the Supreme Court (SC) hearing a case regarding his fake MA Islamiat degree.
A six-judge SC bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry heard the case filed against his certificate in religious education.
The prime minister also announced a mega uplift package for Muzaffargarh and promised sizable funding for its development in the forthcoming fiscal year.
The premier announced to accept all the development promises made by Benazir Bhutto and those made by the representatives of the people in today's public meeting.
He also performed ground breaking of Rs 1.25 billion Sui gas supply scheme that would benefit people from Muzaffargarh to Alipur.
He said that free bus service was in operation in Muzaffargarh and it was launched to provide transportation facilities to the poor labourers and peasants free of cost on the recommendations of former MNA Jamshed Ahmad Khan Dasti.
He said that the PPP ticket holder Jamshed Ahmad Dasti is a true representative of the poor labourers and the impoverished, and the people should support him in by-elections.
