Special Branch to provide security to foreigners
LAHORE: The Punjab government has tasked the Punjab Police’s Special Branch (SB) with ensuring foolproof security of foreigners working on various projects in the country following intelligence reports warning that terrorists could attack foreigners and sensitive installations. Sources told Daily Times on Tuesday that SB Additional Inspector General Colonel (r) Ehsanur Rehman has constituted a three-member team consisting of SSP Amir Zulifqar Khan, DSP Syed Sohail Latif and Inspector Ehsanullah Khan to conduct a survey of the security at sensitive installations, as well as that of foreigners working across the province. According to the schedule, the team will visit the Sheikhupura region on May 12, Gujranwala Region on May 14, Rawalpindi region on May 17, Sargodha region on May 19 and the Faisalabad region on May 21. The team will then visit the Multan region on May 25, Dera Ghazi Khan region on May 26 and the Bahawalpur region on May 28 to review the security arrangements. asad kharal
