Establishment of IHC challenged in SC
LAHORE: A petition was filed on Thursday at the Lahore Registry of Supreme Court challenging the establishment of Islamabad High Court through 18th Constitutional Amendment.The application was moved by Advocate Malik Tariq Aziz, who said that the establishment of high court in the federal capital was in contrast to the Constitution and decisions of apex court.
The federal high court will create a divide among the provinces besides increasing the burden of more cases in the courts.
The petitioner pleaded the court that establishment of a separate high court for just one city is illogical. He said the apex court strike down the establishment of IHC.
