Hamesh Khan handed over to NAB on remand
LAHORE: Accountability Court here handed over main accused of Punjab Bank scam Hamesh Khan to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 14 days of remand on Saturday.NAB officials presented Hamesh Khan before the court today and sought remand of the former top official of the Bank of Punjab. The court granted 14 days remand to the NAB.
Spokesman of NAB told media that Hamesh Khan has been accused of abuse of power and sanctioning Rs9 billion in loans to Sheikh Afzal, the Chief Executive of Haris Steel Mills on fake identity cards. So far Rs. 6.10 billion has been recovered in Punjab Bank scam and the amount has been given to Punjab Bank. Hamesh Khan will be presented in Supreme Court on May 26.
