Rehman Malik could be arrested: law experts


LAHORE: The sentences given by an accountability court against Interior Minister Rehman Malik stand restored after his appeals were rejected by the Lahore High Court (LHC) Monday.

According to law experts, the interior minister could be arrested if he failed to acquire bail from the court.

Speaking to Geo on phone, Justice (r) Wajih uddin said Rehman Malik has the right to go to Supreme Court against the LHC verdict.

The retried justice said Malik would continue to hold his office if succeeded to get a stay order and bail from the apex court.

Legal expert S M Zafar said he would have to apply again for bail, failing which he could be arrested and sent to jail.
