Difficult to ask Swiss authorities for reopening cases: Mukhtar
LAHORE: It would be difficult for the government to write to Swiss authorities for reopening cases against its own president, Federal Minister for Defence, Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar said here today.He was here with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to condole with Justice Khalil ur Rehman Ramday over his nephew's death.
There was no clash between government and judiciary, Mukhtar said. He pointed out that the President enjoys immunity under the Constitution and only the Parliament can revoke it.
There was no talk of giving extension to Army chief, he said.
