Three passengers forced out of PIA flight

Daily Times Monitor

LAHORE: Three passengers of a Lahore-bound flight of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were off loaded at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport over protesting against an unscheduled re-route to Faisalabad, a private TV channel reported on Sunday.

The PK-306 flight was scheduled to depart from Karachi at 7pm, but it took-off after a delay of almost six-hours with
128 passengers on board. The passengers off loaded from the flight included
Furqan Qureshi, Nasir Ahmed and Muhammad Shoaib.

Earlier, the passengers of the domestic flight protested against the management when it made a sudden announcement two minutes before departure that the flight would make a brief stopover at Faisalabad airport before going to Lahore. The passengers also tried to enter into the cockpit of the plane and scuffled with the cabin crew, which left a passenger injured. The captain had to stop the plane on the runway and called in the Airport Security Force (ASF) to sort things out, the channel reported citing its sources.

A PIA spokesman said the plane had to shift some spare parts for a grounded plane in Faisalabad, the channel reported.
