Mushahid demands suo motu against govt in Hamesh case
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Secretary General Mushahid Hussain on Monday demanded Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry take suo motu action against the government’s efforts to make Hamesh Khan an approver in the Bank of Punjab (BoP) loan scam. Mushahid was talking to reporters after condoling with the family of former additional advocate general Muhammad Raza Farooq at his residence. Raza, the nephew of Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday, died after a cardiac arrest in Islamabad on May 14. The PML-Q leader said the government was utilising state machinery and other illegal means to get a false statement from Hamesh. He urged the CJP to take interest in Hamesh’s case in which the government was trying to make him an approver against its opponents. staff report
