Normalcy restored in Karachi; 250 arrested


KARACHI: Normalcy restored in the metropolitan city of Karachi as shops and markets reopened and traffic returned to the roads following a tense situation that gripped the city for past three days.

Police has arrested 250 people so far.

The fresh wave of target killings started Wednesday in which 37 people have been killed so far and 70 others injured. Medical aid is being provided to the injured in different hospitals of the city.

Schools reopened on Friday after a one-day closure but the attendance remained thin.

The business activities revived on Friday as all the small and large markets lifted their shutters.

Vehicular traffic is back on roads but the public transport is less than normal.

Following the delegation of additional powers to the Rangers, search operation was carried out by Rangers and police in Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Abul Hasan Ispahani Road.

According to Karachi Capital City Police Officer, Wasim Ahmed 250 people have so far been apprehended and being interrogated.
