Justice must be served come hell or high water, says CJP
ISLAMABAD: “Justice should be done let the heaven fall” quoted Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Saturday while talking to a delegation of the Lahore Tax Bar Association headed by President Ajmal Khan at the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court. “The legal profession is a noble profession and there should be cooperation between the bench and the bar to facilitate litigants so that inexpensive and speedy justice could be provided to them at their doorsteps”, said the CJP. He said, “There is a big change in our society and this change is due to the lawyers’ community, which played a vital role for the independence of the judiciary”. The CJP said, “Without tax and revenue collection, the affairs of the state cannot be run”. app
