Dasti led protest demo against doctors after patient’s death
MUZAFFARGARH: Enraged relatives of a patient, who died today over alleged doctor’s negligence, staged a protest demonstration in front of the Muzaffargarh Hospital and pelted stones.
On the other hand, doctors complained that protestors subjected them to torture on order of PPP MNA Jamshed Dasti.
“Khalid Majid was brought to the emergency ward of the Muzaffargarh Hospital on Sunday. However, doctors on duty did not provide him any medical help, which led to his death,” the protestors said.
They accused the doctors of committing negligence.
According to sources, angry protestors pelted stones in the hospital and damaged its property. They blocked the road and thrashed the hospital’s medical superintendent and four other doctors.
However, police failed to control the protestors, forcing the doctors to escape the hospital from a backdoor.
Dasti also reached the scene and joined the protest.
Later, the hospital administration assured protestors that action would be taken against the doctors, after which they ended the protest.
However, doctors alleged that they were tortured by the protestors on Dasti’s order.
