Sassi seeks support to end ‘Pukka Qila’s encroachment’
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Culture Sassi Palejo Monday urged the need for political will and support to regain possession of famous Hyderabad’s Pakka Qila.Speaking at the question hour in Sindh Assembly, the provincial minister said the federal government was yet to transfer the control of historical sites to the provincial government.
She said Pakka Qila is a historical site, spreading well over 38-acre.
Palejo said the government will have to provide alternative residential facilities to the dwellers of Qila so that they could vacate the historical site.
According to the Supreme Court’s order, encroachment will have to be removed from the historical sites.
