Governor’s status no better than ‘toilet paper’: Rana
LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, rubbishing the allegations leveled by Punjab Governor Salman Taseer against Shahbaz Sharif, said the passage of 18th amendment bill has relegated the status of Punjab Governor to that of a ‘toilet paper’.
Talking to journalists here on Wednesday, Rana Sanaullah lambasted at Punjab Governor, saying the latter being holder of an esteemed office should refrain from telling lies.
“His (Slaman Taseer’s) criticism at (Punjab) Government is tantamount to enmity with the citizens of Punjab,” he said, demanding of Governor Punjab to produce proof of the allegations the latter has been leveling against Shahbaz Sharif.
The Law Minister denied obtaining protocol services from the Elite Force, saying they the Force is only deployed for the security of VIPs.
He said the ‘Sasti Roti’ scheme was introduced with the sole aim to help the poor. Steps are being taken to eliminate corruption from this scheme, he added.
