Kashmala walks out of NA body meeting

ISLAMABAD: MNA Kashmala Tariq staged a walkout from a meeting of the Standing Committee on Trade over the non-availability of the summoned record of a bill, School of Fashion Design 2010, which the committee approved earlier.

The fourth extension in service for the school’s principal in contravention of rules and regulation was the other reason for Kashmala’s walkout. During the meeting, chaired by Khurram Dastagir Khan, Kashmala accused the committee of exercising favouritism, citing special efforts of committee member Shireen Arshad to promote the bill for the School of Fashion Design. She also accused Shireen of “forcing her way” into delegations of the Ministry of Trade bound for foreign tours.

The MNA advocated her right to have access to all record pertaining to the bill of the School of Fashion Design, and demanded an explanation from school principal Hina Tayyaba for not taking action over the committee’s recommendations. Kashmala also accused the committee of giving unlimited prerogatives to the administration of the fashion school.

She said committee member Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur had also managed to get his son appointed as commercial attaché in a foreign country. online
