Pakistan committed to eliminating terrorism: Malik

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is always committed to coordinating with other regional countries to eliminate terrorism, Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik said on Saturday.

The interior minister made these remarks while talking to the media in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the worship places of Ahmedis in Lahore. Responding to a statement of the Lahore commissioner that the Indian spy agency RAW was involved in the attacks, Malik said, “He may have some evidences and on the basis of it he was saying so but I cannot name anybody in such a case before I have solid evidence. Proper investigation of evidences will be needed if there is any, indicating involvement of any foreign hand in the Lahore attacks”.

The interior minister said that the government cannot afford to wait and watch innocent people die in such a brutal way. Discouraging the blame game, Malik said that cooperation amongst regional countries could be the best way to tackle terrorism. “The world community must appreciate Pakistan’s significant sacrifices with sharing of intelligence and other resources as it has been leading the war on terror with an unshakable determination,” the interior minister said. app
