President confirms high courts' 19 additional judges
High Courts’ 19 additional judges confirmedISLAMABAD: President has approved the confirmation of 15 additional judges of Lahore High Court (LHC) and 4 in the Balochistan High Court (BHC).
The official handout issued here said that President Asif Ali Zardari approved the confirmation of the additional judges on the advice of the prime minister.
Earlier, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had recommended for the confirmation of these LHC 15 additional judges and 4 of BHC and subsequently the parliamentary committee after its approval had sent this recommendation to the prime minister two days ago.
The LHC judges who were confirmed included: Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh, Justice Najmul Hassan, Justice Manzoor Ahmad, Justice Tariq Masood, Justice Ijazul Hassan, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Ahmad Faruque, Justice Chaudhry Shahid Saeed, Justice Rauf Ahmad Sheikh, Justice Ejaz Ahmad, Justice Khalid Mahmud Khan, Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, Justice Sardar Shamim, Justice Mazhar Iqbal and Justice Anwarul Huque.
BHC confirmed judges are: Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel, Justice Tahira Safdar, Justice Muhammad Noor and Justice Ghulam Mustafa.
