Naval chief says no security breach
KARACHI: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir rejected on Monday the reports of “security breach” at the Pakistan Navy’s airbase PNS Mehran that was attacked by a group of terrorists in Karachi on Sunday night, saying the attack on the airbase could not be termed “security lapse”. “Terrorists wanted to cause damage to the assets of the navy. And it was clear that they targeted naval forces,” Noman Bashir told a news conference at the conclusion of the anti-terrorist operation at PNS Mehran on Monday. staff report
