By Masroor Afzal Pasha
KARACHI: In a major political development, Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) chief Amir Khan here on Wednesday rejoined the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) after a lapse of 19 years.
This announcement was made at a large gathering of the family members of martyrs and missing workers of the MQM at the Lal Qila Ground.
According to a MQM announcement, the family members of the MQM martyrs and missing workers and MQM chief Altaf Hussain have pardoned Khan at his request to forgive him. The members of the MQM Coordination Committee were also present on the occasion.
Hussain announced pardoning Khan after the family members of the party martyrs and missing workers forgave him. Hussain also ratified Khan’s reinstatement as a worker of the MQM.
Khan parted ways with his old associate Afaq Ahmed and made his own party in 2007. He was released from jail last week.
The MQM office-bearers denied this new development during the day while the newsmen were barred from covering the event when Khan reached the MQM headquarter.
