Hearing of Taseer’s murder case adjourned

Staff Report

RAWALPINDI: The hearing of former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer’s murder case has been adjourned for the third time without any proceedings due to the non-availability of judge in the Anti-Terrorism Court No2 until June 4.

The last hearing of the case was held on April 30. A large number of activists belonging to religious parties, under the leadership of Shabab-e-Islami Pakistan chief Mufti Hanif Qureshi, gathered outside the Adiyala Jail to protest in favour of Mumtaz Qadri, the murderer of the former governor. Taseer was murdered, as he was coming out from a restaurant located in Kohsar Market in Islamabad, by his own security guard and an employee of the Elite force, Mumtaz Qadri in January
