Celebrations kick off to mark World Environment Day
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Environment Shaikh Muhammad Afzal kicked off celebrations of Environment Protection Week in the province by leading a walk here in Shah Faisal Town on Monday. The walk from Cardiac Centre to Town Office was attendant by MPA Nishat Muhammad Zia Qadri, Administrator Shah Faisal Town Kamal Mustafa, students of local schools and citizens. The minister said that plantation of 1.5 million trees in the province would be carried out during the week, which will culminate into World Environment Day on June 5. Afzal said that for a healthy society the protection of environment was necessary and every individual would have to play it role to curb the pollution. The minister added that subject of environment protection would be made a part of curriculum from next year. staff report.
