Govt has offered dialogue to Lyari miscreants: Marri
KARACHI: Sindh government has offered Lyari rebels who have been involved in the armed skirmishes with police for the last five days, a dialogue and a chance to surrender. Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri made the announcement in a press briefing held at her residence on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “Those fighting police in Lyari should come forward for a dialogue,” adding that those who do so and turn in their weapons, will be provided with complete safety. She was of the view that some strict but tough decisions had become inevitable for maintaining the law and order situation of the area. Marri said that they were distressed with the situation of Lyari, however, taking an action against the miscreants was of vital importance. She further said that they (government) wanted to resolve issues through a dialogue and had presented such option. Marri further said that Lyari operation was not against Balochs or any other community but criminals. staff report
