Role in PM contempt verdict yet to begin: Fehmida Mirza

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Fehimida Mirza said Thursday that her role in Prime Minister Gilani’s contempt verdict was yet to begin because the detailed order had not been issued.

Speaking to reporters at the Parliament House, Mirza said everything would be done legally and according to the law. Mirza added that when the Supreme Court will issue its detailed order she would also seek legal advice and could not pass any comment on the role of the Election Commission.

Responding to those who had tried to make the position of National Assembly Speaker controversial, Mirza said this was highly regrettable.
