Lyari operation can end tomorrow: IG Sindh
KARACHI: The operation in Lyari has entered its seventh day as clashes between law enforcement agencies and criminals continue. On Thursday, IG Sindh Mushtaq Shah claimed that the Taliban were among the criminal elements in Lyari.Speaking during a news conference at the central police office, Shah said that the operation in Lyari was in its final stages and would be completed within the next two days. The IG Police told reporters that five policemen had lost their lives during the operation.
Meanwhile the seven day long operation has taken its toll on the residents of the locality. Over 27 people have been killed while at least 60 others have been injured.
The Rangers are also expected to take part in the operation from Thursday night.
