Malik for early hearing in contempt proceedings against Nawaz
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday urged the Supreme Court to summon former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and others in the storming of the court case, saying the contempt of court proceedings against the former premier were still pending in the apex court. Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, the interior minister said the Supreme Court of Pakistan in its detailed judgement issued on October 10, 2000, had ordered that contempt of court proceedings should be initiated against Sharif and others. “The court had directed the authorities concerned to complete investigations and submit a report within four months,” he said. More proofs against the Sharifs were in the pipeline and would soon be presented before the media, he added. app
