Issue of bodies to be resolved in a week: Malik
Staff Report
QUETTA: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday said that issue of mutilated bodies of missing persons would be resolved in a week as restoration of law and order in the province was the government’s top priority.
He said this while inaugurating a passport office in Khuzdar District. Strict security measures were taken during his visit. Malik asked estranged Baloch to end their hard life in mountains and join national mainstream. He said, “We are contacting dissident Baloch leaders, including Brahamdagh Bugti, Hyarbyar Marri and Sardar Akhtar Mengal and soon the process of dialogue will be started.”
He strongly rejected the statements by Baloch nationalists that military operation was on the go in Balochistan. “No military operation is underway in Balochistan, however, army is only deployed in Sui for the security of Sui installations,” he added. He assured that the dumping of decomposed bodies of Baloch missing persons would be stopped within a week and the missing persons would also be recovered. The interior minister said that the next meeting of the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package would be held in Khuzdar.
He directed police and Balochistan Levies to take all measures to protect people and their property. In order to curb robberies on the RCD Highway, he announced to deploy the FC from Kalat to Wadh on the highway.
