PPP Sindh to start long march against Nawaz
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh chapter has decided to organise a mammoth public meeting in Ghotki on May 12 to which Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani will deliver key address. The decision was taken in Islamabad on Friday during President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani’s meetings with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and other leaders of the PPP Sindh. The venue of the public meeting would be Kammu Shaheed, a bordering area of the province with Punjab, where the party’s assassinated leader, Benazir Bhutto had led a protest sit-in against construction of Kalabagh Dam. It will also be the spot from where the PPP Sindh will start a long march against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s leader Mian Nawaz Sharif towards Raiwand, Punjab in case the PML-N is really heading towards Islamabad as the party leadership has already threatened for this. PPP Sindh President, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has already warned of such long march against Nawaz. Ruling PPP has convened the party’s Sindh Council meeting on May 6 in Ghotki to review and finalise arrangements for scheduled public meeting of PM Gilani.
