Zardari for urgent steps to address missing persons’ issue

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Zardari on Friday stressed for urgent steps to address the issue of missing persons in coordination with all relevant departments.

During a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani at the Presidency, Zardari discussed the missing persons issue, law and order situation and developmental projects in the province. The president’s spokesman, Senator Farhatullah Babar, said the president also inquired about the progress on investigation in the case of Khalil Dale, a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), who went missing from Quetta in January and his body was found recently. Issues related to Gwadar Port were also discussed. The president said the full benefit of Gwadar Port would be accrued only when the highways and supplementary communication projects were completed timely. app
