FM hints at reopening of NATO supplies
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Monday hinted at restoration of NATO supplies, suspended six months ago after a US strike at Salala checkpost killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. Her comments offered the clearest indication of reopening NATO supply routes and she also talked about levying charges on the supplies. Addressing a press conference at the Foreign Office, though the foreign minister declined to give clear answers to queries regarding restoration of the supply, yet she clearly said, “We want to move towards positive zone.” The foreign minister said that Pakistan was interested in charging for NATO supplies as the transportation damageed infrastructure but Pakistan had not charged a single penny on the supply in the last 10 or 12 years.
